Christina Al-Wakil was born into a family of artists, actors, writers, musicians, scientists, thinkers and nature lovers. She is the grand-daughter of the late Major Francis Jones, Herald of Wales Extraordinary, and the daughter of renowned sculptor Professor Wakil of Baghdad and the late artist, Anne Jones.

Christina has always been a creative individual exploring different mediums of expression. For 25 years she has been a musician, whilst continuing to draw, paint and take photographs.

Christina has exhibited some of her canvases with a group of artists called ‘Art for Love’, hosted by the Marquis of Bath at Longleat House in October 2007. These were displayed alongside her father’s sculptures. She has sold a number of paintings and has received commissions from a wide variety of interested parties.

She has recently exhibited photographs and canvases at a prestigious venue within Windsor Great Park for 3 months in September 2008 to January 2009. She has had success in selling 80% of her work to a variety of art lovers and received recognition from Mr Hugo Vickers, Biographer of Cecil Beaton who commented on her work comparing it with the great British Artist Graeme Sutherland.

She will be displaying her photographic experimental work with the Bank Gallery of the beauty of our English countryside whilst continuing to develop her canvas work which will be displayed at a later date.
