The natural world in its various guises, has been the inspiration for Gillie’s artwork since she began painting eight years ago. She is enthralled by the details of nature, depicting them in botanical watercolour and is drawn by the dramatic patterns of cloudy skies and the mysteries of water.
Gillie strives to capture the atmospheric qualities and mood of these, inviting the viewer to explore the shapes and spaces created.
Gillie studied graphic design at Bath Academy of Art and trained as an art teacher. For fifteen years she worked for Woman’s Weekly, before going freelance. She now works at a school in Chertsey.
