Henriette van der Does (1964, Holland) started her development in Arts while travelling. She has followed courses in Life Drawing and Painting in Colombia, England and Brazil, taught by local artists including Gianguido Bonfanti. In Brazil she further studied Art therapy, aimed especially at working through art with deprived children in Rio de Janeiro and it is here that she developed her sculpture under the guidance of Ronaldo Rothgiesser. She has been taught stone carving by Nigel Konstam, Italy.
Although she undertakes commissions, Henriette's work is mostly about 'emotion' and/or 'movement'. She has very rarely a preconceived idea and lets the work evolve instinctively. Her sculptures are mainly cast in bronze. Her paintings are mostly done in acrylic, also in combination with paper or plaster and other materials. She also expresses herself in watercolour and pastels.
