Michael Hedgecoe Landscapes, Nudes and Portraits Artist
Michael is inspired by English artist Edward Seago and American Artist Richard Schmidt. Seago was born in Norwich in 1920 and painted East Anglian landscape and coastal scenery to great effect. American Artist Richard Schmidt paints everything and anything sublimely and his paintings are magical.
Michael's landcapes include the wild dramatic scenery surrounding his cottage on the far northwest coast of Scotland. The constantly changing light and sea in Scotland offer an endless variety of subjects; the sky and cloud combinations produce some of the most spectacular skyscapes in the world. His other landscape paintings show the gentler Southern Counties scenery including Surrey, Sussex and Hampshire.
Michael belongs to several art societies and regularly attends local life and portrait painting groups which provide a balance to his other works. He received no formal art training.
Michael's paintings are now in an increasing number of private collections. Since retiring from his antiques restoration business he has dedicated himself solely to painting.
