Nigel was brought up in West Africa, went to school near Blackpool, studied art at Gloucestershire College of art and London University.
He exhibits widely and has been selected for a number of shows, including this year’s R.I. watercolour exhibition in the Mall Galleries.
He believes in the ambiguous and irrational in art, where the observer plays a significant role. “I aim to re present my thoughts, memories and emotions in a visual form, so that others may recognise something of themselves in it, but perception is never straightforward.”
Nigel also mentors art groups, undertakes workshops for Farnham art society and has a wide experience in art education.
I paint not knowing.
I paint to discover.
I paint to record feeling.
I paint to be on the edge.
I paint to communicate, what I can’t say.
I paint to order chaos.
I paint to defy, my inevitable death.
I paint to express, the individual in us all.
I paint in a dream.
I paint to see, if you feel the same.
